In Hoyo de Manzanares - Madrid
From 24 to 28 February, a new iteration of the C-IED Staff Officers Course has been held at the C-IED COE facilities in Hoyo de Manzanares, Madrid.
Opened by its director, Spanish colonel Javier Corbacho Margallo, the course has gathered 21 students from 10 nations.
The aim of the CSOC is to provide C-IED Staff Officers and Senior Staff Assistants, at upper tactical and operational levels, with the knowledge and skills to facilitate, manage and lead the C-IED effort.
During the first three days, sessions have been mainly focused on the threat, the doctrine on this discipline and the operational planning. The theoretical sessions have been taught by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) posted at the C-IED COE, all of them proficient in different areas of the C-IED fight.
The last two days have been dedicated to syndicate work, where students had to complete an exercise on a fictitious scenario. In this exercise, they had the opportunity to debate, share experiences and exchange knowledge.
There will be a second iteration of the CSOC in June 2025. Calling letter will be sent soon.
