Lodging Facilities

The Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices, Centre of Excellence, has in its facilities a lodge with 60 single rooms and common areas, with living room and dining room, outdoor garden, terraces and self-service laundry. The main goal is to give accommodation to the people attending the CoE courses and events.

All rooms have TV connected to satellite, WIFI, refrigerator, study area and own bathroom with shower, as well as provision of sheets, towels and amenities.

The lodge is located inside the “Academia de Ingenieros” barracks, 1.5 km far from the CoE main building, inside the Regional Park of the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares, in the municipality of Hoyo de Manzanares, 35 km from Madrid capital city.

The beautiful municipality of Hoyo de Manzanares is located 35 kilometers from the capital, in a northwest direction. It belongs to the tourism zone of Madrid of the Sierra de Guadarrama-Alto Manzanares and is framed within the Regional Park of the upper basin of the Manzanares, Biosphere Reserve since 1993.

Strolling through its urban center, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, we find in its streets pleasant fountains, squares and monuments. It is necessary to emphasize its emblematic Town Hall Square, elevated of the land and built entirely with granite. It is accessed by a staircase, which will lead us to the porticos of its lower floor. It is built in two heights, in the upper one there are two lateral balconies on the whitewashed façade, and a central one, belonging to the Consistorial House. This beautiful architectural complex is finished off with the Town Hall tower, which has three floors, in which granite and lime have been combined.

The residence is located inside the Engineers Academy of the Army, located inside the Regional Park of Cuenca Alta del Manzanares, an area of great environmental value, in the municipality of Hoyo de Manzanares, at a distance of 35 kilometers from Madrid Capital.

Access to the Engineers Academy is on the M-618 - Km. 14.2 road, where they must be authenticated at the Security Office or access control.

Inside the base, there are signs indicating how to get to the accommodation.

The C-IED COE is located in the western part of Madrid, at Hoyo de Manzanares municipality, just by the highway A-6 which connects Madrid with the western Spain. Close to the C-IED COE runs the M-50, the outer ring-motorway of Madrid.
