The ADOMEX (Advanced Document and Media Exploitation) Course gathers 10 experts from 8 nations

19 november 2024.- From 11 to 15 November, the Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices Centre of Excellence organized the Advanced Document and Media Exploitation Course at its facilities in Hoyo de Manzanares, Madrid.

Opened by its Director, Colonel Javier Corbacho Margallo, the course gathered 10 experts who belonged to different armies and law enforcement agencies.

This training was funded by the DAT POW (Defence Against Terrorism Programme of Work) and its main goal was to enhance the knowledge on advanced technical exploitation, especially in the disciplines related to cell phones exploitation (CELLEX) and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) exploitation, whenever such devices have been damaged and their information cannot be extracted through standard digital forensic tools.

A second goal was to lay the foundations to develop and improve the national defence capacities of the nations that participate in technical exploitation initiatives, as well as ensuring interoperability to support Allied operations.

The course consisted of theoretical and practical sessions in both CELLEX and UAS, provided by experts from the C-IED COE and by external instructors, who made use of advanced techniques, tools and software to develop the training.
