In Hoyo de Manzanares and Burgos

The Document and Media Exploitation, Collection and Processing in Support to Attack the Networks (DOMEX) course gathers 12 students from 7 nations

The C-IED COE delivered the first annual iteration of the DOMEX course from 19 to 30 may, both at its facilities in Hoyo de Manzanares, Madrid and at the Headquarters of the San Marcial Division of the Spanish Army in Burgos.

Inaugurated by the C-IED COE Director, colonel Javier Corbacho Margallo, the course brought together 12 students of 7 nationalities from different armies and Law Enforcement agencies.

This course aims to enhance Technical Exploitation capabilities Level 1 (tactical level), mainly in the disciplines of document exploitation (DOCEX), electronic media exploitation (MEDEX), mobile phones exploitation (CELLEX) and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) exploitation.

Upon completion of the course, trainees are able to collect, preserve, extract and analyse data and information from Collected Exploitable Material seized from the enemy in IED-related incidents, for subsequent integration into Level 2 Technical Exploitation.

The course was developed through theoretical and practical sessions in each of the areas, using advanced tools and software, with the support of an interdisciplinary team made up of both military and civilian experts at international level.
