The Analyst´s Notebook Users Course (ANUC) receives 9 attendees from 6 nations

From 8 to 12 June, the NATO-accredited Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices – Centre of Excellence held a new iteration of the Analyst´s Notebook Users Course at its facilities in Hoyo de Manzanares, Madrid, the second in 2026.

Opened by its Director, Colonel Javier Sanz Maldonado, the Course received 9 students from 6 nations. The attendees belong to different armies and law enforcement agencies, including Spanish National Police and Guardia Civil.
The main goal of this course is to provide the participants with theoretical and practical knowledge in order to use the Analyst´s Notebook® software as a working tool, thanks to the participation of several SMEs from the Centre.
This software is widely used by intelligence analysts and by learning how to use it, attendees will have the skills to participate in the network analysis process carried out in their areas of responsibility.

These analyses are essential to identify the links, critical capacities and vulnerabilities of said networks in order to take the appropriate decisions to influence them with enough anticipation to keep them from developing the necessary capacities to carry out attacks using IEDs.
