A new edition of the Weapons Intelligence Team (WIT) course gathers 20 students from 14 nations

From 7 to 25 September, the C-IED COE organised and conducted a new edition of the Weapons Intelligence Team (WIT) course at the Hungarian Army NCO Academy in Szentendre, Hungary.

This outsourced location is in line with the Centre's commitment to the NATO-sponsored WIT training programme, which is included in the 2026 Programme of Work, approved by the Centre's Steering Committee.
The course brought together 20 students from 14 NATO nations, with classes taught by staff from the COE and experts from various nations.
The aim of the course was to provide training in Technical Exploitation Level 1 (tactical level), including photography, UAS exploitation, post-blast collection and analysis, and forensic techniques.
The course also included a practical phase where students reinforced the skills needed by a WIT operator. For the participating nations, this is a great opportunity to understand NATO’s exploitation process and to strengthen their national capabilities
