Lessons Learned Workshop 2026 - LLWS26

Aim

The aim of the LLWS is to contribute to the NATO Lessons Learned (LL) process in the realm of C-IED by identifying possible changes in doctrine, equipment, or policies, using real life examples applicable to NATO operations. To achieve that purpose, the LLWS will end with a writing session in which several LL will be agreed in terms of content, Action Bodies (ABs) and Tasking Authorities (TAs) in order to trigger the LL Process with the best chances of success.

ATS26 provides a collaborative forum for participants to examine evolving hybrid threat scenarios targeting NATO assets, installations, and critical infrastructure. Through expert presentations, syndicated discussions, scenario-based activities, and panel sessions, attendees will explore practical approaches to incident response, threat mitigation, and preventive measures within an Article 5 operational context.

Building on current developments in the hybrid threat environment, the seminar will facilitate the exchange of operational perspectives, lessons identified, and best practices among military, law enforcement, and civilian stakeholders, fostering a common understanding of emerging challenges and strengthening collective resilience.
