C-IED Awareness Course
To provide operational-level headquarters staff with a comprehensive understanding of Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) strategies and related supporting activities, with a focus on how these can be effectively integrated into existing operational planning processes and command structures.
The course content is designed to enhance staff awareness of the multidimensional approach to C-IED, including threat analysis, attack the network (AtN) principles, and enabling activities such as exploitation and training. All instructional materials and lectures are based on open-source, non-classified NATO documentation and are intended to serve as reference material to support the application of C-IED principles in operational environments.
Course Prerequisites:
Eligible candidates include NATO or NATO-affiliated personnel serving at operational-level headquarters. This includes Staff Officers holding the ranks of OF-1 to OF-5, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (OR-7 and above), and their civilian equivalents.
Applicants should be currently assigned to positions where an understanding of Counter-IED strategies and integration into operational planning processes is relevant to their duties and responsibilities.
